Hi folks! I know no one really wants to think about it, but it’s Election Day. Whatever happens afterwards, many of us are still trying to stay sane and healthy. Thankfully, there are alternatives to stressing out, and what better way to de-stress and unwind after an incredibly unruly political season than to attend our upcoming holiday concert, “Cool Yule.” As our advertisement states:
Deck the halls and dim the lights: the Portland Gay Men’s Chorus is throwing a swing-era holiday party, and everyone’s on the list. “Cool Yule” takes its name from the Louis Armstrong classic and its attitude from the golden age of holiday cool — Kay Thompson’s delightfully unhinged “Jingle Bells,” a velvet-smooth “White Christmas,” and a heartfelt “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” for good measure. It’s mistletoe with a wink, nostalgia with a backbeat, and 140 voices swinging like the holidays depend on it. Naughty or nice, you’re invited. Santa’s got a setlist.
Our concerts will be held on December 11-13 at the Newmark Theater in Portland, Oregon. You can purchase tickets here at the Portland Gay Men’s Chorus website. We look forward to seeing you there!
